Terry (#72) 8-25-12

My wife and I walked along Main St. in Sarasota, about 9:30AM. A man sitting on the sidewalk called as we walked by, asking for money. Terry was clean shaven and well dressed. He lived in a Salvation Army shelter free, for ten days, but after that the shelter charges $10/night.

Terry has been looking for work, but without success. He is Viet Nam veteran. Terry had a substance abuse problem, but has been “clean” for seven years. Accepting this as truth, I gave him $5 and “signed him up” for the 100 Strangers flickr group. He thanked me profusely, and said, ”God bless you”.
