Richard (#101) 9-29-12

This one is from the archives. Barbara and I walked onto St. George St. in St. Augustine, the main tourist thoroughfare. She was in a hurry to get to a certain store before it closed. As we half ran past a corner, I saw Richard sitting on a bench, and oh, that backlit hair! But I dutifully followed my wife for two short blocks, when she found her store. She said that she’d be a few minutes, so I backtracked, and Richard was still there.

I told him what I liked to do and that I LOVED his hair. He said, “You want it? You can have it!”. I said that his head of hair was no accident and that he must have liked it that way. Again, he said that if I wanted it, I could have it. So, I said that I did not want to take it, but that I’d like to photograph it.

He said to go ahead (pun, pun), and I did. And I liked the result.
