I saw Matt and Nick walking and kidding around in my favorite location for light, in Sarasota. They were a tiny bit reluctant, but as usual, one of them said OK and the other followed. I forget now who took the lead.

Inasmuch as I often shoot portraits in the same location, I am continually amazed at how the backgrounds differ. A wide aperture (usually f2.8) blurs the background nicely, but the resultant shapes and textures sometimes add to the image. And, sometimes detract. I like how the ill-defined sweeping lines in Nick’s photo form leading lines – almost. They imply movement. Matt’s background frames his face, but is otherwise static.
One more thing to worry about :-).
