A 10K run in Savannah could not come at a better time. The temperature was 58 degrees, and I met a lot of runners who had finished and looked none the worse for wear. Including Theresa and Sharon. Both looked chipper, and were more than happy to have portraits taken. The runner’s high worked to my advantage.
As usual, I asked Theresa not to smile for the camera. No problem.

Sharon was an Afrikaner, with a delightful accent. The “no smile” request was a bit more problematic for her. She tried to swallow a smile for a moment.

But, finally, she just lost it.

But that’s OK by me, as this laughter is genuine, not put on for the photographer.
